Multiple losses can complicate grief. A new grief loss connects us to unresolved grief losses in our past. To see everything you facing completed a Grief Loss Timeline. You can use the blank worksheet by downloading and seeing how it's laid out and you can print it out to write on it.
Or you can simply start typing in a blank document or writing on a piece of paper. The idea is to look at your lifetime. Consider 5-year increments starting with your birth to 5 years old. Write about any losses during that time. It is difficult to remember anything at this age, usually, you are remembering what you were told later. Your ability to recall doesn't mean that you were not affected by the loss, it is that brain development in children that age doesn't usually make those memories accessible later in life. Unfortunately, when people do remember things -especially before 3 years old, it is because something traumatic happened.
Then consider 5-10 years old, 10-15, etc.
Then share your findings with trusted friends or family and consider talking with a fried counselor about it as well.
