Something I truly love to do is to do something special in remembrance of my loved ones around their Home-going day and the holidays.
It is perfectly okay to still celebrate your treasured loved one by HONORING their memory. God loves to see us honor everyone He has placed in our lives, past and present.
Today, consider doing something SPECIAL for your loved one:
1. PLANT a tree in their honor (and decorate it with lights in the years to come)
2. Go to a park or your backyard to REFLECT on all the warm memories you shared with your loved one
3. Make a DONATION to a local or national charity in their name
4. BAKE your loved one's favorite treat and give them to someone you know who is discouraged
5. WATCH your loved one's favorite movie or LISTEN to their favorite CD
6. LIGHT a candle in their memory while you enjoy some hot chocolate, tea, or coffee
7. DO an ACTIVITY your loved one enjoyed doing while they were alive
8. If you had a precious child who died, consider BUYING them the toys/gifts you normally would have bought, then give those gifts to a child who is in need
Just because your loved one died, doesn't mean you can no longer celebrate them, honor them, and actively love them. Think of something you can do today to include their memory into your traditions!
