It's surprising who gets a following nowadays, isn't it? A few months ago I consulted with a “micro-celebrity.”
What's a micro-celebrity? It's a new term that is needed in this new world where literally anyone can become famous fast! For example, there's this kid Milad Mirg who wears a Go Cam on his head while making sandwiches at Subway. This teen adds a voiceover of interesting stories about his experiences while we watch him stack paper-thin layers of 'meat' on a white hoagie. He has over a million subscribers with his top video approaching 10 million views. If like me you think that is crazy, it gets crazier: his first video was posted only 3 months ago!
So now it's not just the rich and famous it's people like you and me that can become little celebrities with a substantial following and influence.
Anyway, I contacted a micro-celeb that had fewer than 80K subscribers. His channel is information-based in a small niche so naturally, he was already working on an online course. He was admittedly stuck, having mentioned month after month that he was going to offer his course soon. Last week he did his very first launch and to both of our surprise and delight, a couple of days after opening his cart for sales, and reached 6-figures! Wow! But a few days later when he closed cart to his first-ever launch -sales were at a half-million dollars! Yes, you heard me right -in his bank account is now $500,000 that wasn't there a week ago!
And the best part he learned to tweak his plan so now he is having a blast fulfilling his promises to the people that bought his program. I’ll never forget when he contacted me immediately after his first Live video and asked me if I would call that a “coaching call” and I said "Absolutely! -and great job!" He is thrilled and I am having so much fun helping!
Now, I've helped people launch their first course or membership program for a couple of years now. It's been an informal part of my consulting business. That's about to change.
I am now (formally) offering, "1st Launch Consulting" to help people take what's in them and offer it to the world! You might ask, "Why do you focus on just the first launch Casey?" Because there are tons of high-priced gurus out there to help already established brands, but they do not make themselves personally available to help a new brand get established every step of the way.
Is this you? "Is there a book in you? What would you write about?" used to be the questions. That's outdated as now anyone (especially you) can now offer a multimedia course with membership features. It's more doable for you than you think, but there is a lot of moving parts to plan for. But what really stops people is their internal issues. We call this "Subconscious Sabotage" and if you think you aren't doing it then we need to add "Denial" to the list! :) For the last 20 years, it has been my greatest pleasure to lead people through a process to get unstuck.
