🤖 How Habits Betray Us AI Companion
This AI Companion is designed to help you think through the ideas in this course and apply them to your real-life situation.
It can guide a structured conversation about:
• destructive habits
• addiction and recovery patterns
• relapse risk
• codependent dynamics
• boundaries and accountability
• building a SAS Team (Structure, Accountability, Support)
The companion uses the same models taught in this course, including:
• Use → Misuse → Abuse → Dependency (U MAD)
• Trigger → Thought → Craving → Use
• Withdrawal → Honeymoon → The Wall → Readjustment
• the Beast Brain vs. You model of decision-making
It can help you:
• understand where you may be in the habit cycle
• identify warning signs and triggers
• reflect on relapse risks
• think through boundaries and support structures
• organize your thoughts before speaking with Casey
This conversation can also turn into an interactive journaling space to help you process what you are learning.
If helpful, the AI can generate a structured summary you can send to Casey to make a future conversation more efficient and productive.
How to Use This AI Companion
Download the AI Companion Instructions document provided in this lesson.
Upload the document into the AI platform of your choice.
This companion was built and tested in ChatGPT, so it works best there (both free and paid versions), though other AI platforms may work as well.
Start the conversation by telling the AI something like:
• “I want to work through the How Habits Betray Us course.”
• “Help me understand my habit pattern.”
• “I want to figure out where I am in the recovery process.”
• “I’m a family member trying to help someone struggling with addiction.”
The AI will guide the conversation from there.
You can use it to:
• explore the course concepts
• reflect on your situation
• identify triggers and warning signs
• think through support structures
• prepare questions for Casey
If you choose, the AI can also organize your thoughts into a summary to share with Casey before scheduling a session.
