Codependency, Enmeshment, and Enabling

Those that struggle with life-controlling behaviors need support.

Family and Friends that support them need even more support!

What the FSP does for you:

It helps you find the line.
You know the line I'm talking about.  That line you keep worrying that you have crossed again.

It's a fuzzy line, nearly invisible, almost undetectable as you are crossing it -only afterwards to realize with deep regret that you have done it again and you have moved back into co-dependency, enabling and enmeshment.

It's a boundary line that keeps everyone as sane and safe as possible.

The FSP helps see the line more clearly and helps you take care of you first so you are more able to offer real help to your addicted love one.

        THE PLAN!

Your written Family (Friends, Loved Ones) Support Plan (FSP) is the PRODUCT of this program experience. Print it and fill it out by hand, or download it and type in it on your device and then print it out.

Hold it in your hand. Keep it in a safe but nearby place you can refer to often in the months and years to come.

Revisit and update it as needed. Consider it a fluid document that adjusts over time, usually in response to your addicted loved one's choices. Good choices = reduction of submission to Structure, Accountability, and Support (SAS), and bad choices = additional restrictions.

(SAS = Structure, Accountability, & Support)

This works for both how you as family and friend supports should be trained by your addicted loved one to be on their SAS Team, and how you will train your own SAS Team.  Remember you need support too!

Do your allies know how to encourage you in the face of setbacks? It might feel daunting to have a conversation about your failings.

When a family member is in crisis the WHOLE family is in crisis and needs just as much additional care.

There are four predictable stages of healing and recovery and it is critical that you know the pitfalls of each!

Just knowing the milestones to look for on the path is so encouraging!
