Curvy roads & Control issues

Control issues ? You’ve always had more control than you think!

Driving through the mountains of North Carolina today, I remembered something curious:

People with motion sickness often feel better when they’re the ones driving.

Why?

Because the one holding the wheel can anticipate the curves. Even if the road is winding, they feel more grounded — not because the path is easier, but because they’re engaged in the process.

It hit me… 🤯

Maybe what we call “control issues” is sometimes just motion sickness from life’s chaos.

When everything feels out of control — our relationships, responsibilities, identity, faith — it’s easy to spiral. But sometimes, what we really need is to grab the wheel in the ways we can.

You might not be able to straighten the whole road.

But you can breathe.

You can adjust your grip.

You can name what’s real, feel what hurts, and remind yourself that you’re not powerless — you’re just in a curve.

So today, here’s your reminder:

👉 You’re not trapped.

👉 You do have choices.

👉 You’ve done the best you could.

👉 And you’re still showing up now.

And maybe… just maybe… God’s still riding shotgun.

Take the long way home if you need to.

You’re not alone on the road. 🚙💭
